The closest hotel to Belfast City Airport, the Park Avenue is a modest but attractive property, housed in a low-rise modern building. Spacious and welcoming, the lobby is very stylishly appointed with marble floors and a generous seating area composed of light wooden furnishings. The 56 guestrooms are bright, modern, airy and much bigger than the average hotel room in Belfast. All are clean and well maintained, as are the en suite bathrooms. The hotel’s newly refurbished Griffin Restaurant is not only one of the most popular in Belfast, but also boasts a wonderful collection of paintings by renowned Ulster artists including Markey Robinson, Marie Carroll and Graham Knuttle. Menus are changed frequently and everyday the chefs prepare two starter and main course specials. Lunches for £11.50 will usually include locally caught fish. Popular with business people as well as families, the Griffin also has an excellent wine list. Alternatively, the more informal Gelston's Corner Bar features traditional décor with lots of cosy corners and serves affordable bistro-style food.
