The hotel was 'faded' looking inside. No parking should be stressed as we had to pay an extra £14 (hidden cost) for parking. It was packed with office parties so we could not get a meal there although judging by the breakfasts I don't think I would have liked their dinners. Food definitely not great. Also the front outside steps were constantly packed with people smoking. This was not only a health & safety hazard but looked disgraceful also. The cigarette smoke somehow managed to get into the air vent and our room and the corridor stank of the smoke. Not healthy! Not a good advertisement for the hotel let alone the city. I was very disappointed and think that the hotel does not in any way deserve a Grade 3 Star rating. Realistically it is a (2) at the most. Health & Safety is a big issue there and should be sorted out as soon as possible before someone is scalded in the breakfast area or trips up on the front steps. The tea tasted like ditch water and as for the Foyer toilets well disgusting does not come near it. Very centrally located and easy for shoppers but in a very dreary and neglected part of the city.
Top Tip
The only decent restaurant we found close to the hotel was the Chinese Four Seasons and an Italian one right opposite the hotel but I can't remember the name.

Really nice hotel, located quite centrally. Only problem was they had no record of our booking! However, the manager sorted it out and up graded our room!

It sais there was a mini bar which was one of the main reasons we picked this hotel but when we went the mini bar was empty and hotel said they don't fill them anymore only on request, which it didn't say on the web site

See booking note below: The mix up over the room was very swiftly and courteously dealt with by the hotel staff. NCT car park at rear of hotel. Booking fee for more than 12 hours ie over night is £10.90p.
